Volunteer with Bridges

Bridges relies on the support of our tireless and committed volunteer core. They assist in staffing the 24-hour support line, providing court and hospital advocacy, helping at the offices in Nashua and Milford, visiting schools, tabling during community outreach, and planning special events.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

  • Direct Service: Co-facilitate support groups and take calls on the 24-hour support line. Accompany and provide emotional support or resources to clients at court hearings and assist clients in seeking, filling out, and filing restraining orders involving domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
  • Outreach & Special Events: Help with set up and break-down at community events and Bridges’ fundraisers. Make connections with potential clients, volunteers, and supporters by being knowledgeable about the work Bridges does to support survivors. Assist with tasks leading up to major fundraising events, including Love is in the Air and the Bridges Open.
  • Internships: Student interns focus their hours on Community Outreach and Development, Crisis intervention and Advocacy, or on a focused project that meets their educational requirements as well as an identified need within the organization.

Volunteer Training:

Do you have any education or previous training relative to domestic and sexual violence?

We offer an extensive training course for volunteers. At the end of the Crisi Intervention training program, you will receive a certificate of completion. Are there any specific issues or other obligations that might interfere with your volunteering?
